How to reach us ?

Playa Cacao is located in the south of Costa Rica, close to the border of Panama. The region is called Puntarenas or Zona Sur. There are several ways of reaching Playa Cacao:

By car
Take the Panamerican highway south towards Panama. Exit the highway towards Golfito in the town called Rio Claro. Traveling by car is a good way to see the countryside; but it can be time-consuming, especially during the rainy season!

By bus
There are bus services from the capital San Jose or from the Panama border.

The buses are pretty comfortable, and are operated by Tracopa. They leave from the Zona Sur Tracopa bus station on av 18, calle 5...

By plane
This is the easiest and quickest way to reach Playa Cacao. 3 daily flights depart from San Jose to Golfito operated by Sansa and Nature Air. For more info check their websites: www.natureair.com & www.sansa.com

By ferry
From the other side of the Golfo Dulce there are 3 daily ferries. They depart from Puerto Jimenez. The slow ferry leaves at 6 AM; it takes about 45 minutes to get to Playa Cacao (with a fair chance of dolphin sightings). The fast ferry leaves at 7 AM and takes about 20 minutes. The latest departure is at 1 PM.
